Local photographer Óli Haukur of OZZO Photography created this beautiful video of surfing and kayaking under northern lights in Iceland.
The video features locations in South and West Iceland. Among the locations are Lónsdrangar cliffs, Kirkjufell mountain and Ólafsvík village on Snæfellsnes peninsula, Kleifarvatn lake and the Blue Lagoon on Reykjanes peninsula and a number of different locations in South Iceland and along the south coast.
Óli Haukur told Iceland Insider that he had used a DJI Matrice 600 drone in the shooting of the video, and a Sony a7sii camera with a Sigma 20mm 1.4 lens. The key to capturing amazing nighttime photos and to capture photos of the northern lights in real-time is to have a light sensitive camera and lens. A full moon and snow covered ground which can reflect the moonlight provide enough light to illuminate the landscape.
