Months that used to be totally off-season for people to visit Iceland are now much livelier than before. Last October 99.000 travellers came to Iceland, up from 67.000 in 2014. Of course this is not a considerable traffic, Iceland is and will probably remain due to its location one of the least visited country in Europe.
A large portion of the people coming to the country in this off-season months are seasoned travellers covering large ground while here and often documenting their trips in a thrilling fashion, giving both those who are unfamiliar with Iceland a brilliant glimpse of what they can expect and us, who live here a new perspective of our country.
One such visitor is landscape photographer Paul Weeks, from Seattle. He spent some time in Iceland in October and brought along a DJI Phantom 3 Pro drone. Paul managed to capture some fantastic footage.
Locations included are, the East Fjords, central highlands nature reserves Þórsmörk and Landmannalaugar, Dettifoss waterfall, Selfoss waterfall, Stokksnes peninsula, Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, Vatnajökull glacier and Háifoss waterfall.
We say, well done Paul, this is an outstanding work. This is one of the first aerial videos we have seen of Iceland shot in this beautiful time of the year, when the winter is just around the corner.
