BBC World Service broadcasts has completed a deal with Vodafone Iceland. The contract will allow the international broadcaster to begin broadcasting its services in Iceland again on the FM frequency 103.5.
The Icelandic media company,365, who previously did the BBC World Service broadcast in the country, decided earlier this summer not to renew the broadcast license. Nearly a thousand people signed a petition for the 365 to start broadcasting on the station again.
A press release from Vodafone said, The listeners in Iceland have been very loyal and I am therefore pleased to bring back the BBC to their airwaves .
