The series are expected to air in the fall of 2018. Like the first season, the second season is filmed in Siglufjörður town, in the surrounding countryside as well as Reykjavík.

We know very little about the crime at the center of the story. However, Baltasar Kormákur, the director of the series, told the local newspaper Morgunblaðið in October that the theme of the second season would be similar to the first: People who were for some reason trapped in the small fishing village with no escape.
