It's been a pretty crazy day in Reykjavík with a massive blinding snowstorm hitting the city around 10 (10am) and raging on non-stop until 15 (3pm). Here are some moments from today's action.
Roads to and from the city closed, domestic flights were grounded but besides that life went on more or less the same as every other day.
The blizzard hit after people had gone to work and children to school. The bad weather is in decline and it has stopped snowing so parents can fetch their kids and get everybody home safely.
The city has not been paralyzed but the traffic will be slow. There is a lot of sleet and heavy snow on the streets.
Actually, it can be quite fun to be outside in this kind of weather, but only if you are properly dressed.
