The National Commissioner of Police and the district Commissioner of Police at Húsavík town have decided to close some roads in the central highlands northeast of Vatnajökull glacier due to the unrest in Bárðarbunga volcano. 1155 earthquakes have been recorded since yesterday morning near the volcano.
This could be the start of an eruption. However scientist say that no magma has reached the surface under the ice cap.
