Bárðarbunga keeps swinging, hit by more than 40 earthquakes in 24 hours 1555

More than 40 earthquakes have been detected in Bárðarbunga caldera since noon yesterday. According to the Icelandic Met Office (IMO) the activity in the Vatnajökull sub-glacial volcano is comparable to previous days. The largest earthquake in the last 24 hours was of magnitude 4.6 and struck yesterday at 14.43 (2.43pm). 

IMO reports that seismic activity is also being detected in surrounding areas, in Tungnafellsjökull, a glacier and volcano northwest of Vatnajökull, Herðurbreiðartögl mountain, north of the glacier, and in the northern part of the dyke intrusion.
