Musician and producer Ólafur Arnalds has just released a beautiful cover of 'Say My Name' by Destiny's Child, with vocals by Arnór Dan (the singer of Icelandic band Agent Fresco).
The cover will appear with three of Ólafur’s own compositions on the forthcoming installation of the Late Night Tales series.
Late Night Tales is a publication that was established in 2001 and has been heralded as The Rolls Royce Of Compilations by GQ Magazine.
The publication invites some of the world's best artists create the ultimate late night selection, with each offering including original songs and an exclusive cover version by the artist in addition to a spoken word story narrated by the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Will Self and Patrick Moore.
The series has featured curated mixes by MGMT, The Flaming Lips, Belle & Sebastian, Jamiroquai, and Arctic Monkeys to name just a few.
Ólafur’s episode is set for release on 24 June and will feature an exclusive reading by English actor David Tennant.
In 2014 Ólafur won a BAFTA award for his score for the award-winning television series Broadchurch.
“I decided to approach the mix in a similar way as I would one of my scores. This is the soundtrack of my life. I included songs from many of my friends and collaborators and tried to deliver a mix that represents who I am as an artist and where my influences are coming from – both personally and musically,” says Ólafur on Late Night Tale’s YouTube page.
Late Night Tales curated albums are available through the publication’s shop on vinyl (when available), CD and digital download.
