The Aurora Observatory building at Kárhóll in north Iceland is well underway, according to the National Broadcasting Service. The observatory is a scientific cooperation between a number of Icelandic and Chinese research institutions with the aim of furthering the understanding on solar-terrestrial interaction and space weather by conducting polar upper atmosphere observations.
The project and the observatory will be open to public and also serve as an information centre.
