Meteorologist Trausti Jónsson says the average temperature in Reykavík in August was 12.2 degrees Celsius (53.6 Fahrenheit), 0,5 degrees warmer than the average August in the past 10 years.
It’s also the 10th warmest August recorded since 1872.
