A group of artists wants to open a modern art museum in an old fish processing factory in Djúpivogur, a small village located in East Iceland. A handful of Icelandic artists have already donated pieces of art to the yet to be established museum.
“You have to start somewhere so we decided to donate some artwork to the museum. There will be a Museum of Modern Art Djúpivogur,” artist Sigurður Guðmundsson told the National Broadcasting Service.
An extensive exhibition will open in the old factory tomorrow, Saturday, featuring art by local and international artists.
