Arctic terns delayed by driving northerly winds 2820

The first arctic terns arrived in Iceland a week later than usual, according to ornithologist Jóhann Óli Hilmarsson.

“The birds were delayed by strong driving northerly winds and have just begun to arrive in Iceland,” he told Morgunblaðið. He points out that the arctic tern should start to flock to Iceland’s shores now that the weather has bettered.
