Another webcam has been put up overlooking Bárðabunga volcano. The new one is situated on Vaðalda peak in the central highlands, just north of Vatnajökull glacier. The distance to Bárðarbunga is approximately 60 km (37 mi). This web cam is owned by telecomunications company Míla. The view over the volcano is to the southwest.
The other Bárðarbunga volcano webcam is located at Grímsvatn caldera on Vatnajökull glacier, 30 km away from Bárðarbunga, with a view to the north. This camera was set up by the Civil Protection Agency in co operation with the 112 National Emergency Alert, the company M&T and the Icelandic Society for Glacial Research.
