The notorious cake incident involving Iceland’s PM, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, continues to gather international attention, reports Vísir. A contestant in the popular radio show, ‘Wait, wait … don’t tell me!’ was asked about the incidents during the show’s most recent episode.

During a part called ‘Lightning fill in the blank’ the show’s host, Peter Sagal, asked actor and writer Peter Grosz the following: “This week, while answering questions from lawmakers in Parliament, the Prime Minister of Iceland rushed out of the chambers to blank.”

Gosz answered: “To move out of Iceland.” To which Sagal responded: “No, to get the last piece of free cake in the lobby.” Understandably, this gained much laughter from the audience and other contestants, which included actor Steve Buscemi, Mike Birbiglia and Jessi Klein.

Sigmundur Davíð was criticised for leaving the room in the middle of questioning to grab a free piece of chocolate cake being served in the Parliament’s lobby.
