Yesterday the political magazine ran a long feature with numerous photographs of Dagur B. Eggertsson, the mayor of Reykjavík, under the headline “Roll over Justin Trudeau we need to make space in the bed. Fine-Ass Reykjavik Mayor Is Your New Political Sexxx Fantasy Of The Week.”

The love-affair comes on the heels of a large feature on Icelandic swimming pools in the New York Times, where the writer Dan Kois met with Dagur in a Reykjavík swimming pool, describing him as “handsome”. Wonkette seems to agree. Wonkette is known for its somewhat risqué approach to describing the appearance of politicians its writers find handsome or pretty, so significant parts of the “analysis” of the article are somewhat unfit to print.
