The Duty Free store at Keflavík International Airport has been chosen the best airport tax free shopping service provider in Europe by Business Destinations, a magazine and website for corporate travellers.
Keflavík Airport is the only airport in the world that offers not only duty free store and services to outbound passengers but also a duty free store at baggage-claim where visitors and Icelanders coming back home get the last-chance to grab great deals on cosmetics, vine, beer, spirits and other goods.
Earlier this year Keflavík International Airport was inducted into the prestigious Director General‘s Roll of Excellence by the Airports Council International. The decision is based on the opinion of passengers who participated in the ACI’s Airport Service Quality Surveys.
Another business at the airport receiving acknowledgment is Restaurant Nord, which is located in the departure area. Magazine and website Men's Journal has nominated the restaurant as one of the 10 best airport restaurants in the world. Nord has a menu highlighting the nation’s cuisine, with a few global favorites (including pizza) thrown in, explains Men's Journal expert.
