A spacious new hot tub was taken into use in Vesturbæjarlaug swimming-pool yesterday, April 10th. The swimming-pool, which was constructed in 1961, is located in the western part of Reykjavík and extremely popular among those who live in the area.
“We didn’t try to invent the wheel when it came to designing the hot tub. We decided to combine all the best aspects from other hot tubs,” explains Hafliði Halldórsson, the swimming-pool’s director, in an interview with local news website Vísir.is.
The hot tub is situated so that it´s never overshadowed, that way visitors can laze about in the sun all day long. In addition to the new hot tub, the swimming-pool’s facilities were also enlarged and improved.
Finally, Hafliði reassures the swimming-pool’s regulars that the old hot tubs will remain as they are.
“The new tub is just an addition to our choice of hot tubs.”
