A possible strike at Icelandic airports, reaction expected from the Icelandic Government 243

Aviation workers in Iceland will start an all-out strike at 4AM Icelandic time (GMT) this coming night, April 30th, closing down domestic and international airports if the Icelandic Government does not intervene.

Negotiations between the Iceland's Aviation Workers Association and The Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration (Isavia) broke down yet again today.

This means that the Government will most likely enact  a law banning the strike before it starts tonight citing security reasons and the damage that closing down air traffic to and from the country would cause to the Icelandic economy.

Travelers are advised to look for updates on the websites of their airlines and on the website of Keflavík airport.
