A web camera has been put up looking over Grímsvötn volcano, Iceland's most active volcano. The camera delivers new pictures every ten minutes. At this moment the lense seems to be covered in snow and the visibility accordingly not exciting.

The camera was set up by the Civil Protection Agency in co operation with the 112 National Emergency Alert and the Icelandic Society for Glacial Research.

In the spring of 2011 an eruption in Grímsvötn caused disruption to air travel in North-Western Europe from 22–25 May 2011. The last eruption in Grímsvötn before that was in 2004. Grímsvötn volcano is in Vatnajökull glacier south east Iceland.
