Aalto Bistro, a new restaurant located in the beautiful Nordic House, will open on May 1st. Chef Sveinn Kjartansson will run the restaurant which will serve healthy food influenced by Scandinavian and Mediterranean cuisine.
The Nordic House, located in Vatnsmýri moorland in central Reykjavík, was designed by internationally acclaimed Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, hence the name.
Sveinn also runs Borðstofan bistro in Hannesarholt Culture House on Grundarstígur Street in down-town Reykjavík. The historic house used to be the home of beloved poet and politician Hannes Hafstein.
