A film crew from drone maker DJI has released fantastic new videos of the Holuhraun eruption. We have not seen any footage that takes the viewer closer to the red-orange glowing lava fissure and the exploding magma fountains.
Eric Cheng was the drone's remote pilot and according him (see making-off video) the drone went so close that its GoPro camera melted.
The aerial view is spectacular. With magma exploding into the sky and a huge river of lava winding its way into the distance.
