A documentary about the first human donation to the Icelandic Phallological Museum in Reykjavík has just opened in select theaters in the USA. The film is by Jonah Bekhor and Zach Math and is called The Final Member.
The Final Member has been shown at film festivals around the world for almost two years with critical acclaim. “Side-splittingly funny…you can’t make this stuff up ” was the review in Variety.
On the occasion of the fim's opening Time.com spoke to Sigurður Hjartarson, the founder and curator of the museum. As ever Sigurður is relaxed over the attention. “The human is not really special,” he says. “It’s just one of 96 different species I’ve got.”
