90 earthquakes detected in the Bárðarbunga area in last 24 hours 1967

Close to 90 earthquakes have been detected in the Bárðarbunga area in the last 24 hours. This is a slight increase from the previous 24 hours. according to the Icelandic Met Office (IMO). No earthquake above magnitude 5 was detected. The largest, M4.4, struck at 23.26 (11.26pm) last night.

The eruption in Holuhraun, that began August 29th continues, with the same intesity. 

The visibility over the ongoing eruption in Holuhraun is good via webcams at this moment but can change fast as it depends on weather in the area.

The National Broadcasting Service has published a new fantastic video of the volcanic eruption captured from above. The volcanic crater, named Baugur, is around 100 meters (328 ft.) high and is at least 400 meters (1,312 ft.) long and 100 meters (328 ft.) wide.
