During a recent meeting organized by the Redevelopment authorities in Rangárþing eystra district it became evident that many residents oppose the intended development plans.

If approved by authorities, the hotel and surrounding businesses are likely to bring a great number of jobs to the area and Skógar would eventually become a more densely populated area.
