12 songs compete to represent Iceland at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest 4226

The National Broadcasting Service (RÚV) announced this morning the 12 songs that will compete to represent Iceland in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. The final choice will be made on the 20th of February.

Iceland first took part in the competition in 1986 with Gleðibankinn by Icy, ending at number 16. Iceland has been close to winning twice, in 1999 with Selma's All Out Of Luck and in 2009 with Yohanna's Is It True, both finishing 2nd in the final ranking.
