The hot dog stand Bæjarins bestu pylsur (literally: The town’s best hot dogs) is branching out. The small hot dog stand, located in downtown Reykjavík, is a giant on the Icelandic fast food scene. President Bill Clinton is still fondly remembered for his choice on a visit to Reykjavík in 2004: one hot dog with mustard only.

4 The great mid-winter feast
Þorri, the fourth month of winter, according to the ancient Norse calendar, kicked of on Friday 23rd with the annual mid-winter feast Þorrablót. Some of the dishes served might not sound very appetizing, but they’re guaranteed to put hairs on your chest.

The thoroughbred Bengal cats that were stolen from farm Nátthagi in Ölfus, South Iceland were returned safe back home. The thiefs left items of clothing, a pair of leopard pattern leggings and a bra at the crime scene
